Today I want to share a cute and easy idea for making your own wine corks! These fun, decorative corks make sweet gifts. I love using them in my home because they add a little bit of personality!
Supplies needed: wood spools and corks (i got mine from hobby lobby), double sided tape, wood glue, embriodery thread, scissors.
1. Use double sided tape to begin adhering thread to your spoot. You can use a vintage spool with thread already on it if you like too. 2. Wrap thread around the entire spool. Be sure all the wood is covered. 3-4. Use a small dot of glue to secure the end of the thread. Rub it in so that it will dry clear.
Next, Adhere your corks to your spools using wood glue. Let them dry completely.
Aren’t they cute!? This project is super quick and a fun gift idea for any wine lovers in your life!
I also wanted to share a few other D.I.Y. projects using corks. I love this coaster project from Apartment Therapy.
I think this how-to for turning corks into tiny stamps from Sweet Spot is so adorable!
And this cork bath mat from Crafty Nest is pretty amazing too! I think I might save up a stash for this project!
Hope your day is lovely. xo. elsie

It would take a lot of time to half this many corks with a small knife. After trying many kinds of blades, I found that a scroll saw made it quick work to get through my cork collection.
I love your ideas & I too love corks! I repurposed a wall mounted coat rack that had missing pegs which I replaced with corks and knobs. With a fresh coat of paint and a little mod pouge, we had created the most beautiful necklace/bracelet hanger!
Thanks for the ideas!

One of the references in Wegman Report is:Valentine, Tom (1987) “Magnetics may hold key to ozone layer prbloems,” Magnets,2(1) 18-26.I’m having a hard time finding that although I do findtom valentine national tattlerand that yields interesting hits. This is one of the numerous bibliography entries that is never referenced and although it has to compete with some other winners, it may be the most bogus.
Wreaths are a crafter’s ftravioe project: every one is unique, they can have so many different looks, and they are often quick and easy, which is perfect if you’re an impatient crafter. One of my best friends, Jen from Tatertots and Jello is a master of making the most adorable crafts. She can turn an old t-shirt into a really cool sparkly Halloween wreath! Well, in this case, the t-shirt wasn’t old it was a 3xl shirt she found at Dollar Tree. She also bought all the other materials for this project at the dollar store, spending a grand total of $4. Jim, Wayne Davidson’s an interesting guy, he posts on Real Climate quite freenqutly. He’s of the opinion that arctic conditions are deteriorating more quickly than the scientific community at large believes. His dataset’s interesting, but I’m not competent to judge whether his results are good or not. But given his track record at Real Climate, I’d say that a polite e-mail to him would lead to a response and an opportunity for correspondence, if you want to give it a shot. He seems very approachable.
I find it curious that Dr Curry has spent so much time and efrfot engaging with the skeptical blogs, but I find very little engagement from her in venues such as this. There was a recent drive-by post at realclimate that kicked up a stink, and then nothing. No engagement in the aftermath in that venue. It feels a bit one-sided to me. I got the impression originally she was trying to reach out and increase understanding provide a bridge between the science and those that have lost faith in the scientific process. Yet everything recently from her has been fairly vociferous criticism of scientists, the CRU investigations and the IPCC processes. I see none of the balance I would expect.
Great Ideas!
And we have enough corks to implement them – –
Thank you for the inspiration!!!
