In our entryway we have a tall dresser that stands alone on a big wall. For the past six months we've had one of my mom's giant abstract paintings there (she's kind enough to let us borrow pieces often!) Recently we swapped out a few and she took that piece home. Our entry was feeling a little sad and empty for a week or two. I planned to make something, but since my project list is unusually long right now I chose a temporary (and seasonal!) solution to buy some time. Enter: Hats as artwork. Use your own hat collection to create a gallery wall look with just a few thumbtacks! It's too easy to even call this a project, but it made a huge impact in our entry. I love the cozy and casual vibe.
Have you ever used a collection to create an easy, temporary display?
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! xo. elsie

Really love the idea, but my question is the same as the previous commenter’s: how do you fix them on the wall exactly? Thanks in advance for your answer!
How do you fix the hats on bed room wall
What a fun idea! I have several great hats that sit all lonely in my closet. Having them out on the wall is great way to display them, and would also entice me to wear hats more.
Wow! That is a great idea! I too have some hats that haven’t found a permanent home but this is definitely a great option! Thanks!
I have a straw hat tacked up onto my bedroom wall right now, but I don’t really have enough hats to make a full wall display of them. This is a great look! I have done something similar with empty picture frames too 🙂

We had a hat up on our wall to cover up the bell speaker. 😉
really cool way to display heats! 🙂
That’s a great idea! We had the same problem in our bedroom and used crocheted scarves. I love bringing th out in the fall and was more than eager to show them off.
How did you hang them?
I did this with my hats when I had a walk-in closet; they were displayed on the back wall. But my cat kept knocking them off whenever she got up onto the shelves, so that didn’t work out very well. Ha! I hope someday I have a big closet so I can do this again! I love displaying hats.

Not only attractive and whimsical, but frees up closet space:)
TOO CUTE! I have lots of hats that I could do this with. How did you attach the hats to the wall? 🙂
Ha! I just implemented this idea in my bedroom with some gorgeous 50’s hats that I purchased at an auction this past weekend, before you even posted this ;D I adore hats as wall art! They make for such cozy, vintage-y decor.

I love this! I have a beautiful and treasured collection of hand fans from my partner and antique ones from his mother. I would love to display them can’t can’t think of and haven’t seen any really chic ways to do this. It’s hard to work with their shape… Does anyone have any tips or examples? TIA
