Hi, friends! Today I want to share a fun craft project that combines my love for candles, mason jars, and (drumroll please?) pineapples!
It’s a pineapple night light. I kind of obsess over theming parties, small or big. And after all the cold we just had in Missouri, I’m in major need of some tropical vibes. So these are going to be the perfect touch to a little cocktail night with friends, but I’m pretty sure they’re going to be a permanent fixture too! It’s the perfect little DIY for our Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores collaboration we’re doing this year.
You excited? Me too! Here are the supplies you need and a little video Jeremy and I made for the project.
– mason jar (or jars in various sizes)
– yellow tissue paper
– gloss finish Mod Podge
– black and green acrylic craft paint
– paint brushes
– scissors
– green felt
– pipe cleaners (in any color)
– optional: battery operated tea lights and a glue gun.
Step 1. Cut tissue into small pieces.
Step 2. Use Mod Podge to adhere tissue, covering mason jar. (Allow to dry)
Watch the video for full instructions. This is a fairly quick project, so if you’re going to make one, you may as well make a group of three, four, or five!
Fun, right?! I also mixed a plain yellow mason jar (comes that color) into the mix to add variety. The glow is soft and they look amazing in the dark!
There you have it! If you make this project, please share your photos with me on Instagram! We’d love to see what you create! xx. Elsie

this is beautiful and really outstanding piece of work you have done
Love this idea. Would look great on the patio in the summer time with tiki torches.
This is so neat! I do a lot of DIY candle holders on my blog, but no night lights. How great!

This is adorable!!
I love the way this turned out! 🙂
Ahh these are so cute! I’m definitely going to make storage containers like this for a kids room one day. A whole set of fruit inspired ones would be super cute – you could strawberries too!
That’s what I thought too!

I googled “what do pineapples symbolize” after I read this comment and it was so interesting! It said that they can be a sign of welcoming people into your home, so this project would be great for decoration or a party!
