And the addition of the DIY gold leather pieces makes this simple wall hanging such a pretty addition to a gallery wall. Not only was it quick to put together, but it cost less than $10 to make!
Supplies:
–tan tooling leather (You can find this at the craft store. Tooling leather is a stiffer leather that holds its shape well.)
-colored leather (optional, but I liked the pop of color)
–hot melt adhesive sheets
–gold heat activated foil sheets
-scissors
-pliers
–gold jewelry eye pins
-iron
–1/4″ hole punch or leather punch
-one 12mm gold jump ring
Step One: Begin by cutting shapes out of the leather pieces. Everything from crescents, half circles, circles, triangles, to rectangles works.

Step Three: Once the hot melt has cooled, peel back the paper backing to expose the glue on the leather. Cover with the gold foil sheet and a piece of scrap fabric and iron again for another 4-5 seconds.

I even think this would look great if you made several to create a hanging mobile as well! xo. Kara

Love this! I had been looking for something to do with all of my faux leather scraps that are left over from a product that I design. I may try a hanging mobile. Thanks for sharing!
Wow. How cute they are!
This is very cute, but don’t you think you should give a shout out to Electric Sun Creatives since it’s clearly derivative of their work?
Thank you so much for sharing Electric Sun Creatives! I actually hadn’t heard of them until now, but you are so right! The piece is very similar to their work. I just wanted to create a leather mobile with geometric shapes after finding some craft leather at the craft store.
Awww this is so cute and easy to make! Great DIY as always <3

Where did you find the colored leather? I have not been able to find any at my craft store or online.
I got mine at Hobby Lobby and it was by Tandy leather. I’m sure you can find sample pieces online if you search for Tandy leather.
This looks like a fun project! Looks like you were inspired by Electric Sun Creatives?

These are great! I’ve been looking for stuff like this for my bedroom.

I love this idea! I imagine you could use a similar technique to make a mobile for a nursery… what do you think?!

Definitely!
This is ADORABLE. I have a couple of dream catchers hanging on my wall, but this looks like it would be a nice addition. 😉 <3

Such a fun idea! I have a narrow space I need to fill over my bar cart and this would be perfect. Also love this idea for a sun porch. Kind of looks like a wind chime, but without the noise.
