Pyramid Stud Vase DIY

I have quite a few vases under my kitchen sink, ready to catch any beautiful flowers that may find their way into my house. I realized recently that I tend to use the same ones over and over though, so I thought that it was time to do a vase DIY so I could have a new cute container to add some fresh florals. I love pyramid studs and I’ve had a few of these fence post caps from the hardware store in my craft collection for a while, just waiting around until I found the right project for them. Turns out they are the perfect size to make a cute, but easy vase or planter! Supplies:
-spray paint
–fence post caps (x4)
–super glue
–acrylic cube
-thin washi tape

First, you want to position your fence cap on one of your cube sides and make sure that it is centered. Use your thin washi tape to mark around it so you can see exactly where to place it in the next step.

Use your gel super glue to put a thin layer of gel all the way around the edge of your fence cap, and then place inside your tape lines to secure. Wait until the glue is set.Repeat the process with each side and then pull off the washi tape.Now that all your sides are secure, give your vase a quick wipe to remove any dust or dirt and you’re ready to paint!Use your spray paint to give the outside and top edge of your vase a few thin coats of paint (with adequate dry time in between each coat) and allow the vase to fully dry. Once your vase is dry, all you need is some water and beautiful flowers to make your vase complete! I actually had these flowers out for a party later that night and people couldn’t believe what the vase was made of—they were totally surprised it was a DIY! That’s always a good sign, if you ask me. Maybe someday I’ll splurge on a designer vase (like this Jonathan Adler banana bud or multi-sided face vase) but until then pretty guys like this one can tide me over. You can totally use this for a planter as well, instead of a vase (or switch back and forth with how you use it) and you could use four caps together per side to make a square of studs on a big floor planter as well—the choice is up to you! xo.
