It's no secret that we love a good cocktail around here! Here are ten super simple and fun sticks that you can make to decorate your fancy drinks. Make a bunch and keep them on hand for your next party!
1. Make a mini chalkboard! This teeny bubble chalkboard is inspired by a big one that Rachel used to make for our store. Simply use a long wood skewer, balsa wood cut into a bubble shape, black acrylic paint and craft glue to assemble them. Instead of chalk, use a white colored pencil to write something cute for your guests!
2. Make fringe flags! Use a small amount of craft glue on the top of your stick to attach a piece of tissue. After it is dry, use scissors to fringe the flag. These are so pretty and festive… plus it's super easy to match the colors to your event!
3. Use crafty pom poms at the top of wood skewers (with a tiny dot of glue!) to create these silly cocktail sticks. These are perfect for a girly sleepover party, no?
4. Similarly to the tissue flags above, use a little craft glue to adhere a longer piece of crepe paper streamer to the stick. Use scissors to cut a fringe. Leave the streamer a bit longer for a fun look!
5. Attach a faux flower to the top of a wood skewer. Use a little washi tape to secure it and add a bit more color. These are perfect for a summer party!
6. Use embroidery thread to wrap extra long toothpicks for a festive and pretty olive garnish, resembling a friendship bracelet!
7. Make something sparkly! Embellish a skewer with gold tinsel from a party store for an extra fancy champagne toast!
8. Using a little craft glue, double a piece of metallic ribbon around the top of a skewer. After it is dry, cut a triangle from the center of the ribbon to give it a cute finish!
9. Use super glue to attach three crystals to the top of a wood skewer. They're adorable, reusable and quirky!
10. Last, but not least, go simple by tying colorful ribbon to the top of a stick. These are perfect for almost any party, just choose ribbon that fits the colors of your event!
I hope you've picked up a few ideas for fun cocktail sticks! I recommend using long wooden skewers to make your sticks and trimming them to size with scissors after you've chosen your glassware. :)
Getting excited for the weekend! xo. Elsie
Absolutely perfect! Need 180 cocktail sticks to stab into pulled pork/beef rolls we’re making for son’s wedding…yes, of course I’ll make my own. Our unique homemade (hand drawn, photocopied onto rustic brown heavy paper) nerdy themed wedding invitations were cheap as chips and an absolute hit. I’m thinking continue that theme with pics already drawn for invitation, reduce size, photocopy/cut/glue to make flags that wrap around top of stick. e.g. “I love you” one side, “I know” on the other… other icons on same paper as invitation.
Easy Peasy 🙂 You’ve saved me a few dollars too. God’s blessings of Shalom 🙂
These are soooo cute! definitely having a go at the pompom ones for a picnic <3

Really love the idea, but just wondering, those jars are pretty cool and unique, where do you get it? or you just reuse the one from “Ragu” and stuff.
Thanks
