Our Wedding Ceremony

Welcome to our wedding ceremony. I’m excited to share it with you, my blog readers! It was so incredibly special and, as everyone says, it was over in a snap! I’m super thankful for these photos, songs and memories that I have to keep. Without further ado….

As our guest entered there were two flights of stairs. On the landing of the first flight we used this vintage organ (it’s been hollowed out and we got it for free) as a display piece. There were jars with tea lights, flowers and wedding photos from our family.

Birds Of A Feather
The entry and guest book table were decorated with handmade and vintage bird themed decor. I love the quote “Birds Of A Feather Flock Together.” It was perfect for our occasion. There were feathers and birds everywhere, in the flower girl baskets, in people’s hair, boutonnieres, decor and more….

This first song is the song that played as our grandparents, parents, wedding party, flower girls and ring bearer entered the room. It’s one of our favorite Camera Obscura songs.

Program 2
Feather Aisle
One of my favorite details was our white feather aisle. The flower girls tossed colored feathers. It was magical!

Before we knew it, I was walking down the aisle with my dad. Our song (above) is one of Jeremy’s favorite songs. He chose it and we both loved it. Since the wedding I’ve only listened to it once, and cried a lot. It’s a beautiful memory.

I kissed my dad, handed both our mothers a pink rose and then the ceremony began…

We said our vows, exchanged rings and only cried a little bit. It was beautiful. The bridesmaids all told me later that they could hear Leigh-Ann sniffling the whole time…. cute!

Emma walked with her pup down the aisle. It was so sweet and adorable. Everyone was gorgeous. I have a very dazed memory of it in my mind, but in these photos it’s much more clear (thank you, Arrow & Apple!)

Our pastor, Adam, pronounced us husband and wife and we were walking down the aisle with blue confetti to the sound on my favorite Queen song. It was a perfect moment. We couldn’t have hoped for more.

If you haven’t seen our wedding film, you can see it here. Also, huge thank you’s to Style Me Pretty for featuring our wedding on their beautiful blog! Photos by Apple & Arrow and our beautiful friend, Kinsey Mhire. Thank you for sharing our special day, Elsie

  • Wow, Elsie! These photos are magical!

What a beautiful day, it looks like you two made it incredibly special and meaningful. ♥

  • Hi Elsie,

I am in awe because your wedding looked so perfect and I love everything about it, from the venue, to the deco, to the flower girls tossing feathers <3 And the picture that had the bridesmaids carrying their flowers is soooo beautiful! 🙂

  • My wedding was a little hazy too, its so good to have all the pictures to remember it by. Your wedding looked beautiful! I love the one at the end where everyone threw blue confetti.

  • This is so gorgeous, Elsie! It’s so nice to have so many wonderful photos of the ceremony because I agree, it’s all kind of a blur!

  • So lovely. I love your color pallet!

We also played “two doves” at our wedding ceremony last September. Later last fall we were lucky enough to see the Dirty Projectors on tour. We know Angel who sings lead on that song, we told her that we played it and she got a little embarassed! It was really sweet

  • aw, thanks so much for sharing…the music really made you feel like I was there! I love that camera obscura song! So lovely! 🙂 -Lo

  • Beautiful. Adorable. Simply Magical. I love all of it–it makes me want to get married all over again! xo. I wish you years of delightful happiness.

  • These pictures are wonderful! They really show just how amazing, wonderful, and magical your wedding was!

  • I love the family wedding portraits! Such a great way to commemorate two families coming together. I love seeing what people select music wise for their weddings. I will have to fit a Joanna Newsom song, somewhere in mine. Maybe “Bridges and Balloons”, I think that would make a lovely wedding song.

  • oh my goodness, reliving the wedding by looking through these photos makes me teary eyed! your wedding was so beautiful, i’m so happy you thought to invite me (and blake!), we were in awe the entire time, and it made us so excited for our own wedding!
thanks for a beautiful day, elsie! <3

  • It makes me smile that you played that Queen song at the end! Perfect 🙂 You are clearly a lovely person.

  • That is a great place to have a wedding! I need to catch up on all your past wedding posts to see if you mentioned how you picked that place. Also on how your families took to it. Every idea I have for my wedding our families hate. But then I tell them they’re not paying for it so they have to deal.

  • Hi Elsie!

You and your bridemaids look so goregous!!!! I really adore your dresses, the colourful pantyhoses, the selfmade bouquets(!!!) the blue hair of your friend (i still think about dying my hair into blue too), and well everything. it is very inspiring and i hope that a wedding of friends is coming soon so I can turn some ideas of yours into nice things for them 🙂
    have a great time!

  • This is a unique wedding! The venue totally rocks. It happened in an abandoned building, and the use of different colors was so free. Cheers! You’ll definitely have a wonderful life together. 🙂
