Singapore Sling

Singapore sling recipeThis is a cocktail that Elsie and I had (quite a few times) while on vacation in Mexico earlier this year. It was my first time ever visiting Mexico. It was a laid back vacation spent on the beach (on a resort). So to me, a Singapore Sling will always taste like a tropical vacation. πŸ™‚How to make a singapore slingThere are a ton of different Singapore Sling recipes available. I read online that the original recipe created at the Raffels Hotel (in Singapore) is no longer being served. Although that might sound kind of sad, I actually think it's a glass half full (liquor pun!) kind of thing. You don't have to worry about adapting the recipe to whatever suits your tastes. Many of the recipes I saw included grenadine, which I've chosen to omit. I just think the drink is sweet enough without it. But you can be the judge. Make it the way you like it.Singapore sling ingredientsSingapore Sling, makes one.

Combine all ingredients in a glass and stir together. Add ice an allow to chill before drinking. You can also shake all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker. Either way. I did the lazy version. It's a vacation cocktail guys.

*Singapore Slings are more often made with gin but I like to use white rum. Just seems tropical…Best singapore sling recipeThis cocktail is a LOT of fun. They would be super fun to serve at a party. I like to garnish each drink with a cherry, pineapple wedge and fresh lime. I really love the Cherry Heering. I can't wait to find other uses for it. Do any of you have favorite drinks that include Cherry Heering? xo. Emma
