I love when I find out about little makeup tricks that take hardly any time at all to apply and yet can make a big impact on your overall look. I certainly struggle with finding ways to make my eyes look wider and brighter (otherwise I sort of have that sleepy-all-day look about me). One quick little fix you can use is to line the bottom of your eye with a white eyeliner (I use this one) to really make your eyes pop!
Actually, the white liner on the bottom look was kind of a 60s makeup staple too, so you know I’m especially up for anything that gets the 60s glam stamp of approval.
All you have to do is trace a creamy white liner on the lower waterline (the inside edge of your lower lash line), and your eyes look brighter in seconds! I usually pull down gently on the top of my cheekbone to make the waterline a bit easier to access while I apply the liner with the other hand.
See? It just makes the eyes pop a bit and helps them look fresher and more open. If you wear mascara on your lower lashes (also a big 60s thing), just make sure to apply the liner first and then your mascara. This trick will only add seconds to your makeup routine but will make all the difference – give it a try and see if you agree! xo. Laura

È una idea fantastica….si può usare per un easy look per il giorno e ancor più per un make up più sofisticato per la sera!!
Oooh I definitely want to try this! 🙂

Where do you get a pencil like that?
Thank you so much, I can’t wait to try it!
I would love to have brighter eyes, but what if you wear contacts. Would that be a problem? I am Dutch so sorry if my English writing contains mistakes… Ellen
I have a link to the one that I used in the post, maybe give that one a try!

Good tip!
Laura 🙂
Great Tip! I’ve heard of this. Been meaning to try it. Thanks for sharing!
You guys should do a blog post on which are the best ones for this effect! I would love one like that because I’ve tried this trick before but I never quite have chosen the best white eyeliner, y’know? Bummer!

What a great idea! I use nars black eyeliner already, I’ll have to try this out because I do have sleepy eyes sometimes =o)

I’ve used this trick for forever and love it! A nice nude liner works well, too, for a more subtle look if you don’t want a wham-bam white.
Instead of white, I use cream colour and it does the trick! When I am so tired, I can’t leave house without adding this to makeup routine.
Even with light makeup looks I do this. http://www.hannamarielei.com
Great.
Lots and lots of people talk about this trick and I have yet to try it. It really does make the eye pop though.
Looks beautiful on you! I tend to use a nude liner as I’m a bit too timid for full on white!
What colour have you used on your lips? It really suits you!

I use Tarte’s “lights camera lashes” inner rim brightener. I LOVE that thing. I don’t wear a lot of make up, but this is the one thing I do just about every day!
