10 Things I Love Sunday

I had such a crazy week. We had a big shoot with Real Simple Magazine as well as a bunch of other (not nearly as exciting) things, and this week, Jeremy’s mom is coming to stay with us for a few days. I’m going CRAZY with spring cleaning and am hoping to finally film a full home tour this month. I also started working on a spring AND summer capsule wardrobe (I decided to do a two-season capsule this time just to see if it makes it easier) that I will share with you soon.

Here are 10 things I am loving this week.

1. Nova’s tiny vans. She is so proud to have the same shoes as me. It’s the cutest thing ever! I have to say … there is a LOT more cute matching stuff out there than I imagined there would be. I don’t even have to try. Do you think matching your toddler is the best or the worst idea? Should I make a shopping guide?

2. Taking this ’70s rainbow beach towel to California soon and can’t wait.

3. Give me all the rose quartz. For Emma’s birthday recently, I made her a skincare box and I added one of these … so pretty!

4. I picked up a bunch of these sheet masks and am LOVING them.

5. Tips for finding cheap airline tickets for family travel. I definitely felt a big difference recently when I started buying three tickets for each of our flights instead of just two.

6. A rainbow doormat.

7. I finally picked Nova’s big girl bed (well, this is the headboard … it’s just a boring twin bed otherwise).

8. I finally started working out again this past week (I didn’t work out for several months right before and after we adopted Nova) and I rewarded myself with these pants and this bra. I normally don’t get too excited about fitness clothing, but they are really flattering.

9. I’m loving playing with watercolor crayons with Nova. They’re perfect for her since she mostly likes playing with water—haha.

10. I don’t wear very much jewelry, but I love wearing a lot of tiny gold rings and I’m thinking of adding this moonstone ring to my collection. I love these stacking rings too. I like to get the really small sizes and wear them on the top of my fingers. Speaking of which … I need a manicure. Haha.

I hope you have had a lovely week! I am really looking forward to some quality time with my mother-in-law AND Jeremy and I are going on our first date alone in three months this week … woooo!

Happy Sunday. xx! Elsie

  • Could you possibly share what else you included in Emma’s gift box? I have a friend in mind who might love something like this!

  • I feel like it’s easy go overboard with the matchy, matchy thing. I like the shoes, that’s cute and I think it’s nice to have to share a piece of jewelry. I’ve seen some mom’s with “mini mes”, it’s too much. My friend’s brother and his wife used to dress alike all the time 🙄. So funny looking through their family albums 🤭
    Just sayin….

  • My sister (and BFF) has 2 1/2 year old girl/boy twins and we ALL love matchy matchy and have been following the brands you tag on Instagram! You’ve helped us up our toddler style game for sure! Please please do a guide! 😍

  • Match!!! Just do it. You have adorable style and it comes off as so precious when you guys are in similar clothes. She eventually won’t love it so eat it up while you can!!! (My hubs and I love to match on certain occasions… he doesn’t seem like the type and that makes is more fun for me!)

  • Matching is adorable. Just be prepared to give it up when she decides it’s “not cool” ! It’s really amazing how quickly that happens…. I swear 5 is the new 12!

  • Nova’s matching vans are SO CUTE. I love matching with my toddler, and I try to do it whenever I can but right now she’s on a pink kick and I have nothing pink, haha!

  • I’m okay with matching shoes and maybe accessories, but matching clothes or mini-me clothes are too much. I’m sure you’ll find other ways to ‘match’ without wearing the same thing.

Just have to say, I love love everything that Nova’s wearing.

  • Yes! To matchy-matchy with little ones, and to putting together a shopping guide. But please include boy stuff, too. I find that most mini-me get-ups are geared towards moms and daughters. Happy Sunday!

  • I just bought my three month old infant “crib” checker board Vans,, with the soft bottoms… that are printed with the little waffle pattern! It’s amazing. My husband and older two boys and I all have a pair, so match it up girl! If I had a daughter, I couldn’t help myself but to get mommy- daughter sets.

  • A two season capsule wardrobe sounds like the best idea, I always wonder how people do it with just one! Those watercolour crayons look amazing, I wish we had those as kids – so much fun! Another lovely list, can’t wait for next week’s.

  • If you think buying tickets for three is bad…. I have to buy for 5!!
Even a cheap ticket at $150 soon becomes (ummm maths) $750 – now no longer cheap.

  • I don’t care what anybody says, please make a shopping list of mom/toddler matchy amazingness please and thank you. I have a 2 year old and she is so proud when we have the same stuff. She even has little newsboy hats like her dad and she LOVES wearing them and matching with him. It’s the little things. 🙂

  • I’d add to the matching conversation that this type of thing creates stronger bonds between you. It shows her that you guys are connected, and that’s a super double bonus. As she gets older she will discuss the differences between you guys, as my daughter did. But having this early connection (that she is clearly making) will strengthen your bond!

  • I love the look of simple stacking rings and have added two on top of my simple solitaire engagement ring and scalloped, milgrain wedding band – one almandine garnet for my son who passed away, and one small black diamond. Both rings were custom made by Mary John Slaughter and I cannot recommend her highly enough for beautiful simple rings!

  • Hi Elsie,

I guess ‘twinning’ is a thing now – according to Vogue magazine it is a street style phenomenon going on in NYC! There were several photos showing different versions of twin relationships like brother/sister, best friends, coworkers and the feature photo was the pop duo Ami and Aya Suzuki – maybe you know of them?
