Hey friends! I'm here to share some plans for the bedroom in our new space. This is one of my favorite rooms in the house. Here are a few "before" photos:This is what you see when you walk into the room from the hallway. This is the wall where the bed will be. The room you can see through the door is a small room that we plan to use as a "styling room" (basically pretty storage).
Alright- turn to the right and this is the next wall. Maybe some art here?
This is the wall facing the hallway. That other door goes up the attic. Isn't that little window a character? Maybe a side table or dresser on that small wall?
Here's my favorite view! A wall with pretty bay window.
We have big plans for this room! First of all, the border has been stripped and the warped ceiling has been skim coated. We painted the room a fresh bright white with a pop of color on the ceiling. You might remember we were considering a pop of color for the living room ceiling, but we decided it was more fitting for the bedroom. I just picked out the light fixture and it's gorgeous!
That's all the progress we have so far. SO many more choices to make. Headboard inspiration via Desire To Inspire.
You guys may already know, but we love making headboards! This time we want to change it up and do something fun underneath the bed as well. I'm actually considering a canopy bed frame. Can't wait to dream up side table ideas as well.

One thing I really want to focus on in this room is something unexpected. I love this gigantic photograph in Mike D's (Beastie Boys) home.
In addition to these ideas we will for sure create some kind of new incarnation of the guest room cart. Maybe not a cart this time, but a place to leave treats for our guests. We've had a bunch of guests since making that for my homem, and it's such a great way to show our friends we care. 🙂
Alrighty! I only have one more "before" post to share and we'll be sharing progress photos soon! We actually just worked at the new space for the first time today (!!!!!) It's come along way since these before photos were taken in October. Cannot wait to share more! xo. Elsie

i was wondering the same. such a nice idea to have space for a guest! i love all your update ideas for this place–exciting to watch as it all comes together. thanks–
Is there a specific name for the photos of the bed frames you posted? (Not Mike D’s canopy bed). I’m obsessed!! Do I dare ask of there’s a DIY for it? Can’t wait to see what else is next for the house!
I was just wondering what year the house was built as we have a 1901 house with nightmare spaces to work with especially the bedroom. I love the ideas that you have shown and hope to adopt some of them if possible. We may have to renovate and add to the bedroom as it is so small. We have another bedroom in the front of the house that has the closet in it, so unsure if I should make that a walk-in closet or what?
Anyway, I love the house you have, it is so beautiful. I’m sure you will make it even more beautiful. Thanks. Carole
I’m having so much fun reading these posts and you haven’t even begun to show us the finished product yet! My mom decided to move to the south (I’m in Chile), so while she looks at a place to live, I’ve been killing time at work looking at paint and fabric. SO EXCITING.
How very exciting! Love the inspiration photos 🙂 Can’t wait to see!
I would love to have that last bed! That house is so gorgeous too, you girls have be thinking of my dream house now 🙂
can’t wait to see what you guys do with this space!

Can’t wait to see the finished results, I’m moving this month and have been loving creating Pinterest boards for every space, will be recording how I get on over on www.peachparade.com
The room is totally anti-fengshui.
I used to be super into remodeling stuff when I was in my twenties. Now that I’m in my thirties I just want to relax and not redo all the time. Do you think that might happen to you guys?
I love the blue photo above the bed! And I love your blog! I just started reading it and am already inspired! 🙂
Hi Kim, Great question! We work with a lot of talented people all across the country, who often come to town to work on various ventures with us. It’s nice to be able to offer a cozy place to crash. But don’t worry. We’ve got plenty of work space in this house. We’re going to have a lot of fun here. xo!
I love that style of home!! I can’t wait to see what you guys do!!
So exciting! Those windows are amazing! Curious though..I may have missed this in a previous post, but you’re actually designing this bedroom as a bedroom? I guess I was thinking all the rooms would just be work spaces for you all. How fun, though!
This is such an exciting process! Can’t wait to see the end results.
I love giant photos too. There’s one in the movie Trust the Man that I have always loved.

That is the prettiest bay window I have ever laid eyes on! Can’t wait to see what you decide for “something unexpected” & adore your inspiration photos so much(as usual!)… A pop of aqua or yellow would be super fun in this room!
What a great space to start with. Love the flooring!
