We are so excited to welcome Kelsey Williams to the blog today as she shares her lovely home with us!
"I live in a suburb of Des Moines, Iowa with my husband, Eric, and our 3-year-old daughter, Rooney. We bought this house eight years ago (our first house!) just a few months after we got married. The floor plan is called Rockstar Ranch, which solidified our love for the house. Even though our house was new when we bought it, we've done a few projects to make it feel more like ours. We recently repainted all of our walls from taupe to white. I am absolutely in love with it! Sometimes our house feels a bit undecorated to me, but over time I hope to add things we love. My husband completed a pallet wall in our master bedroom last year. I love how it turned out!
"Our son is due in June, so we have been working on preparing his nursery and transitioning my daughter's room to a big-girl room. In his room we created a DIY faux wallpaper, which was really easy and fun!
"We have a large unfinished basement (living in Iowa, we have basements in case of tornados). My husband and I took a lot of time designing the floor plan and recently built walls and laid flooring. We've poured our hearts into the project. When it's completed, hopefully sometime this year, we will double our living space!
"We looked at a handful of houses and fell in love with this one as soon as we saw the arch between the kitchen and living room, which is still one of my favorite features.
"The living room is my favorite space in our home because it feels really light and bright but still lived-in cozy. I spent many hours in this room during my maternity leave after my daughter was born. Even though it isn't much square footage, the open layout makes it feel much bigger. It also gets great light, which helps with my recent plant obsession.
"We made the "Let Her Sleep" canvas in our daughter's nursery a couple months before she was born to add a creative DIY touch to her nursery. But my favorite part of her nursery now that she's grown into it is all of her own artwork on the walls! It was really important for me to create a space where she could feel creative and get lost in her imagination. She is so proud when she sees her drawings up there."
Thanks so much for sharing your home with us, Kelsey! You can find out more about Kelsey and her home projects on her blog. xo.

The carts are great! I even want another one for our guest bathroom in the basement (not shown) because it doesn’t have much storage! 🙂
I am a HUGE fan of that Ikea cart (and don’t have one yet!) so I love that she has two. I would totally do that. The wood wall is gorgeous, too!
