Cinnamon Dolce Ice Cream

Cinnamon dolce ice cream recipeI just can't seem to put my ice cream maker up guys! This is cinnamon dolce ice cream. It's inspired by the Starbucks flavor and Biscoff Cookies. Does anyone remember when Delta airlines used to give complimentary Biscoff Cookies on all their flights. Man, those were the days.
Cinnamon ricotta ice creamIf you can't tell, I'm a big cinnamon fan. This ice cream is a little different because it is made from ricotta cheese. This gives it a slightly different texture than custard based ice cream, and it's less sweet. Don't get me wrong. It's still ice cream (there's plenty of cream and sugar involved), but it's just a little more grown up. To me this is the perfect ice cream companion to an evening cup of coffee.
Ricotta ice cream recipeCinnamon Dolce Ice Cream, makes about 1/2 quart

12 oz. ricotta cheese
1 cup milk (I used 2% but whole is even better)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar (regular/granulated)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Cream together the ricotta cheese and milk until smooth. Stir in the remaining ingredients and refrigerate for 2-3 hours (or overnight). Pour the cold batter in to your ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer directions for use.Cinnamon dolce ice creamCinnamon Ice Cream (yum!!!)Happy ice cream making! xo. Emma

  • Love LOOOVE Cinnamon Dolce Latte.. about those Delta biscoffs… i recently traveled from Atlanta to Philly and they offered me some 🙂 sooo maaaaybe they’re back! they came in a red wrapping

  • So weird that these are called Biscoff Cookies in America. They are actually from here in Belgium and are called Speculoos haha 😀

  • Finally got to try this! Fantastic recipe and so much easier than egg baked ice creams. Served this with home baked apple cobbler for a winter treat!

  • yummy! That looks so delicious, I’m definitely going to try this out 🙂

  • In Holland we say koffieleutjes in stead of Biscoff Cookies, because we eat them together with the koffie (coffee) (:

  • Love the idea of having this with coffee! Yum or as affrogato

  • Biscoff cookies are the best! I thought that Delta still gives those on flights?! Oh goodness, that is going to be terrible when I fly Delta next time.

  • Ohhh I love those cookies, my mom gets them for my sis and I and we have them with a good cup of tea! 🙂

  • i adore your ring, Emma! congrats! <3 and I cannot wait to make and taste that delicious ice cream!

  • Oh man, that looks RIDICULOUSLY good!

  • delta still offers biscoff cookies occasionally! i had some on my flight last month 🙂

  • This sounds good!! going to wait until it warms up here though its freezing in UK x

  • Hmmm looks yummy! If you like Biscoff cookies, try this pie, I make it very often (here in France we are lucky, the Speculoos (their French name) are much less expensive!)

  • Totally drooling. It’s 1:40am and i’m reading your recipe posts… not a good idea 😉

  • Oh no! This looks so good! I’m in a post dinner dessert craving and this ice cream looks so amazing, even in the dead of winter.

  • umm delta STILL does and that may be the only reason i fly delta. which is now making this red eye i’m taking in a few hours sound that much better!

  • I am surprised that there are no eggs in this recipe! I just might be able to make it! YAY! (I’m allergic to raw egg)

  • If you don’t stop posting all these delicious looking ice cream posts I’m gonna end up buying an ice cream maker! Though would that be such a bad thing..?

  • The ice cream looks like it has such a great texture. I’m weird about how ice cream feels in my mouth- I need it to have a little oomph!

    xx Kait

  • I love biscoff cookies! I am so going to make this.

  • My daughter picked up on of those ice cream balls st ghe thrift store and she has been dying to use it. This might be our first recipe. And depending on how much rolling we have to do, I might be investing in an ice cream machine. It looks yummy.

  • Heather- Yes, check here:

  • Delta still gives Biscoff cookies! Next time I fly I will take some and make this!

  • Yum! Looks absolutely delicious! I’ve been meaning to get an ice cream maker and try my hand at homemade ice cream.

  • Jennica Bridgman- I have a kitchen aid ice cream maker, it’s an attachment to my kitchen aid mixer. I love it a lot. It depends what kind of ice cream I am making. This particular recipe turned out pretty firm straight out of the mixer but most of the time the consistency is more like soft serve ice cream so then I do usually freeze it for a bit longer to get that perfect scoop consistency. 🙂 Good luck!

  • Yum! By the way, Delta still does give out Biscoff on their flights regularly. Maybe they are just packaged differently. I always ask for two 🙂

  • Those cookies are the best! Made me love flying, especially since I was pretty young when they had them. 🙂

  • What brand and type of ice cream maker do you have? That ice cream looks like the perfect consistency. Does your machine require you to freeze the ice cream after you make it to harden it up?

  • Looks YUMMY!!! BTW Delta STILL gives them out!!! I had some on a flight a month ago!!!

  • I just flew to Texas over Thanksgiving break and Delta gave us a few Biscoff cookies. My little sister is obsessed with them, so I found a whole bunch at our grocery store and gave them to her for Christmas! I should totally tell her about this ice cream you made 🙂

  • Looks delicious! Do you ever do any vegan ice creams? I’d love a vegan version of this 🙂

  • Totally grown up! I put cinnamon on EVERYTHING (even my veggies), so I think I would like this!

  • Looks tasty! Plenty of ice outside but that doesn’t mean there isn’t space for more inside! I love ice cream… xxx

Hope you had a lovely birthday yesterday!

  • Oh my goodness, this looks delicious. And I got the Delta cookies on the flight I took home just this past November!! I think maybe they only do them for longer flights now…? Have you ever tried Trader Joe’s cookie butter? It tastes like those cookies, only in a peanut-butter consistency (but it tastes nothing like peanut butter). But back to the ice cream – my friend has an ice cream maker. I need to convince her that we need to try this recipe in it 🙂

  • mmm…this looks so yummy!

    xoxo Aimee
