Elsie + Nova in Parents Magazine

Hi there! I am so excited to share our cover story in Parents Magazine. The issue will be hitting stands this week. I feel so honored to be able to share our adoption story with a new audience!

It was also Nova’s first magazine cover, which is SO CUTE. I’m probably going to frame it. They told me they can maybe even get us a Chinese issue, which would be so so cool to frame for Nova!

The shoot day was so much fun. It was in our home and everyone was so thoughtful of Nova’s needs and made it so much fun for her! She even got her regular nap on schedule (woooo!).

Here are a couple more photos from our shoot … they are so special to me!

  • I love the jumpsuit you were wearing and would love to have one like that—can you please tell me where you got it from? Thank you!

    • The jumpsuit in the first picture/cover photo– is the one Im talking about.

  • That’s so awesome. I just saw the issue and can’t wait to read it.
WHo are those super cute overalls that you are wearing by?

  • I love your story! Thank you so much for sharing! I have to ask- what jeans are you wearing in the last photo with the red blouse? In parents mag the credits say Madewell, but I’ve searched and can’t find them 🙁 I love the curved pockets!!

  • I read your article in parents magazine! Loved the story and it looks like nova is thriving! Looking forward to seeing your family grow with little sis!

  • Congrats to your family! Lovely photo shoot. We’re looking forward to this issue of Parents mag. Nova is lovely and looks like she had fun! 🙂

  • Congrats on the cover and article. I enjoy reading this magazine. I love that you’re an advocate for adoption. My husband and I adopted a sibling group. Super excited to read about the future little sister for Nova.

  • I just read your adoption story on parents.com and I’m a crier and cried the whole way through! What a beautiful and inspiring story! Your hope and resilience will certainly be passed on to sweet Nova.

  • What a fun day! I absolutely love the life your home has. I imagine your kiddo(s) will look back on their childhood with such fond memories and know their mama really cared for them.

  • Congrats!! This is so awesome and you guys look just adorable! Love it.

    • He wasn’t in the photos (which he was happy about) but he is a huge part of the story. 🙂

  • I’ve been a blog reader for YEARS (like, since the vintage shop days), follow you on IG and have followed your adoption story (and its ups and downs) since it began. Reading the Parents article made me cry. Congratulations Elsie, Jeremy & Nova on such a beautiful story and family! Little sis is one lucky gal!

  • Oh my goodness how fun! I love that you were able to do it in your home and Nova even got her nap in. These pictures are so cute and I love how animated Nova is in them. They’ve really captured her essence and don’t look super posed and studio portrait-y. I might have to buy this issue just to read your article. Thanks for using your platforms and reach to bring more interest and awareness for international adoption! <3

  • Great pictures! Nova is adorable and Elsie you are beautiful. Thanks for always sharing your story with others. It is great to hear stories where there are ups and downs in life. You and Emma and your families are inspiring and I enjoy following your stories, even though I am an older generation than the 2 of you.

  • These are just precious!! I love Nova’s headbands. Also, that red top Elsie is wearing in the last photo is amazing! Do you mind sharing where it’s from?

  • Congratulations! The cover looks so good! ❤️ 🙂
