One of my favorite ways to create a recipe is to mix things I love that wouldn’t normally go together. This cocktail is a love child of such mixing. I like whiskey… I like peaches… I like cream soda… and I LOVE ice cream. It might sound like a bit of an odd mix, but wait till you try it. It’s absolutely amazing.
Peaches & Whiskey Ice Cream Float, serves one.
whiskey (I used Bulleit)
peach purée*
cream soda
vanilla ice cream
cinnamon
*To make your peach purée, just blend up one peach (core removed) in a blender (use a tiny bit of water if you need liquid to help it blend). This makes enough purée for several drinks!
In a mug, combine two tablespoons peach purée, 1 1/2 ounces whiskey, and fill close to the top with cream soda, leaving room for one scoop ice cream. Mix the ingredients with a spoon. Add one scoop vanilla ice cream and sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon. Enjoy!
This is a dessert and drink in one. It’s perfect for a party and easy to prep in advance for a group. I hope you guys like it as much as I do! If you have a whiskey aversion (as some of the girls on my team do), replace it with the spirit of your choice. I would probably choose vodka as my second choice.
If you’re curious how this drink would taste as a mocktail, we tried that too! Just omit the alcohol and enjoy! It’s delicious and unique, like an extra fancy soda float.
xx- Elsie
P.S. Here’s my favorite whiskey sour recipe.

This is definitely an ice cream float that I could get on board with! I have a couple of friends who really like whisky, and this would be a great recipe to share with them.

This sounds so good! I have only tried whiskey once, and I wasn’t fond of it, but I think I’d like it in something like this. Or vodka. I like vodka, especially in sweet drinks!
Such a great recipe! LOVE the combo! Such a fun, summer drink!

Looks amazing, guys! FYI, I thought it was funny that I actually had to Google “cream soda” when I saw this, because in Canada the only cream soda I’ve come across is pink. Like, seriously PINK pink, and I didn’t realize it wasn’t like this everywhere… Hah! Oh, Canada 🙂
Oh man, this is sooooooo happening tonight!
Sorry- it’s not peeled. Just removed from core and blended. No peeling needed.

Awe- thanks guys!!!

That sounds incredible! Have you had peaches from The Peach Truck?! They are THE best! And they deliver farm to porch!
I was going to make root beer floats for my husband and I to drink tonight on our deck, but this changes my plans a little bit 🙂 What a delicious, fun idea!
I adore the editing on these photos. Gorgeous! What action was used for these? Also, I really miss Blue Bell ice cream; we don’t get it here in the Mitten!

Hi Michelle! I normally don’t either, but this was seriously amazing. 🙂 -Jacki
I don’t normally drink whiskey but this will have to be an exception!! yuuuummm-my!
Doesn’t sound strange at all. Sounds incredible! YUM!
Danielle, I can’t drink either, and so Elsie made me a virgin version of this simply by omitting the whiskey and it was incredible! It tasted like liquid pie. 🙂 -Sarah

This sounds yummy! The peach purée recipe calls for peeled peaches but the peaches pictured look like they have the skin on. Can the drink be made either way?
Yummy.

The What’s In Between
Sounds weird, but good.
I made this with my Peach Bourbon Sweet Tea preserves from our local Palisade, CO peaches in place of the purée. Hello! Success story. Love your recipes and fancy craftiness.
Agreeeed! – Jacki
This is so pretty! I don’t drink though, are there any substitutes for the whiskey?
Hey remember that time you made THE BEST DRINK OF ALL TIME!? I miss this day. You’re the best. xo – Sarah

Oh how I miss Blue Bell ice cream!
I like x, I like y, I’ll like x+y is pretty much my cooking strategy as well.
Spiced rum is my jam; I bet some Kraken would be great!
This is incredible. Sounds like a drinkable, boozy peach pie. I love cream soda floats. Can’t believe I never thought to make them a little more adult.
