This time of year is my favorite! I love all the decorations, lights, and spending time with family and friends. This year feels extra special because it was our first Christmas in our new home! I’ve been excited about documenting all the special moments. When I opened this month’s Messy Box, I fell in love! The colors this month are so beautiful and cheery. It’s the perfect kit for scrapbooking those special December memories.
I was so excited when I saw the card with the three little stockings! I knew that I wanted to make a stocking for me, my boyfriend, and our little dog, Astro. I used little vinyl letters to spell out our names on the top of the stockings. I also used the washi tape from the kit to make a little banner out of embroidery floss and some alphabet stickers to spell out “JOY”. I think it looks so cute against the bright journaling card.
The 9 x 12 papers in this month’s kit are so pretty. I decided to cut one up, and I put it in to the 3 x 4 pocket pages. In the middle, I added a stocking embellishment and sequins. I love pockets that have little treasures or sequins sewn in.
The peas ink matched the colors in the kit perfectly, so I made a 3 x 3 card using the emoji stamp set. I think the heart eyes will always be my most used emoji. Baking is one of the things I look forward to most about this time of year! Since it doesn’t get too cold in Phoenix, I used the mittens as oven mitts and made a baking layout!
There are so many fun traditions and moments to scrapbook this month! What are some of your favorite December traditions? xo. Laura
