Sister Style: Going Out Dresses

Elsie Larson and Emma Chapman of A Beautiful MessElsie Larson and Emma Chapman of A Beautiful Mess I've noticed that I'm really good at collecting clothes that I work in. Which for me includes crafting, cooking, building furniture sometimes, answering emails most days, and a whole bunch of things in between. You can probably guess, but a lot of my daily outfits involve jeans. And I do a good job of finding cute tops or different things that can work within these types of activities. What I'm not good at is remembering to pick up a going-out dress every now and again. Which for me simply means a dress that I probably would not want to wear to make any kind of craft in.

Laura does this smart thing where if she finds a date night dress for a good price, she'll buy it and save it. Smart gal. So I've been trying to remember this easy little shopping trick. And that's how I got this blue dress. Elsie and I snapped these photos in the afternoon, and later we all had a happy hour with our husbands and I felt really fancy in a summer-night kind of way. Got to use my date night dress just a few weeks after finding it. 🙂

  • Both dresses are so cute! And you look so pretty together. My favorite though is Emma’s blue dress since its totaly my color and style!
    Have a wonderful summer!

  • Awesome! I would love to see a post on y’all’s favorite style bloggers/inspiration.

  • These pictures are great! I absolutely love the dresses you two have, very cute

  • Cute dresses! My wardrobe tends to jump between DIY project clothes and dresses. It’s a fun balance.

  • I love these dresses! You girls are the cutest!

  • I’d much rather go for a t-shirt and jeans, but when I find a nice dress, I always snag it right away. A good dress is hard to find sometimes! The blue pattern/design is very cool and interesting.

  • I absolutely love the dresses!! You both have such an amazing blog. And you have helped inspire me to write my own. I have signed up for messy boxes and I really hope to be learning about scrapbooking really soon. Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading more, and sharing your blogs on my page.

  • These outfits are so full of color it makes me supremely happy & the blue brick wall is a good find too! I’m not a huge fan of jeans and do most of my work in what would be considered “fancy” outfits, though I’m not as crafty as you two ladies. 🙂 I’d be interested to see what your every day wear is like too.

  • Love the green & blue combo! So bold & bright. :]
