To be honest, the terrazzo element was a happy accident, but now I think they completely make this project! Grab a few coordinating colors that work well in most rooms in your home or just go with black and white. Or maybe just make one for each room? These have a lovely minimalist shape that make them easy to stack and store when not in use or to give to a friend as a housewarming present with your favorite type of incense. Check out how easy these are to make below.
acrylic roller
clay cutter
2 small packages of colored, oven-bake clay for base color
1 small package of colored, oven-bake clay for color specks
parchment paper
plastic straw
oven-safe cylinder such as mason jar or aluminum can

I love these so much!
Hey Rachel! My name is Lisa and I run a DIY bog over at LipStainAndLegos.com I love this idea so crazy much! You honestly amaze me with your projects. What do you suggest to keep the ash off of everything as the incense burns? What if I made my clay a little longer so it created a pretty little semi-circle but then also ran a few inches across the counter surface to catch it? Do you think that would make them to hard to stack? Also, I love that you paired them with crystals. My office is slowly turning into a massive shrine and I kinda love it.
I really love the look of these, and will probably use the technique in other projects, but once it burns down past the hole, won’t it just fall and burn whatever’s underneath? The shape and the terrazzo style is gorgeous, I just think it may need a tweak to make it more functional for burning.
Wow this is a great idea! I am not that into clay, but this idea is amazing since I love incense in my rooms!
The color are so cute 😀
omg these look soooo cute!! And also so much fun to make! x

I love burning incense and this is such a fun little way to hold the stick. Would be interesting to see how you clean up the ash though, that’s always my problem
I have been fascinated by Terrazzo lately, This is a fantastic idea, with great pictures!
This not only looks gorgeous, but looks like such a meditative activity. Fun!
Oh I love this idea!
Sincerely Miss Ash
without any grooves or a well isn’t the ash from the incense gonna get everywhere?
My thoughts exactly – very pretty, but you would have to put it on a base of some kind to catch the ash.
Oh my, such a nice gift idea!
What a super stylish piece, cool!

The DIY is so smart! I could actually make one in the toaster oven I have.

These look truly charming. Although, I am sure, I would burn myself trying to make some 🙂
