Try This Simple Trick to Make Your Eyes Look Brighter!

Try This Simple Trick To Make Your Eyes Look Brighter! (click through for details) I love when I find out about little makeup tricks that take hardly any time at all to apply and yet can make a big impact on your overall look. I certainly struggle with finding ways to make my eyes look wider and brighter (otherwise I sort of have that sleepy-all-day look about me). One quick little fix you can use is to line the bottom of your eye with a white eyeliner (I use this one) to really make your eyes pop!

Actually, the white liner on the bottom look was kind of a 60s makeup staple too, so you know I’m especially up for anything that gets the 60s glam stamp of approval.

(click through for details) All you have to do is trace a creamy white liner on the lower waterline (the inside edge of your lower lash line), and your eyes look brighter in seconds! I usually pull down gently on the top of my cheekbone to make the waterline a bit easier to access while I apply the liner with the other hand.

It just makes the eyes pop a bit and helps them look fresher and more open. If you wear mascara on your lower lashes (also a big 60s thing), just make sure to apply the liner first and then your mascara. This trick will only add seconds to your makeup routine but will make all the difference – give it a try and see if you agree! xo. Laura

  • È una idea fantastica….si può usare per un easy look per il giorno e ancor più per un make up più sofisticato per la sera!!

  • Oooh I definitely want to try this! 🙂

  • I would love to have brighter eyes, but what if you wear contacts. Would that be a problem? I am Dutch so sorry if my English writing contains mistakes… Ellen

  • I have a link to the one that I used in the post, maybe give that one a try!

  • Great Tip! I’ve heard of this. Been meaning to try it. Thanks for sharing!

  • What a great idea! I use nars black eyeliner already, I’ll have to try this out because I do have sleepy eyes sometimes =o)

  • You guys should do a blog post on which are the best ones for this effect! I would love one like that because I’ve tried this trick before but I never quite have chosen the best white eyeliner, y’know? Bummer!

  • What?? Really?? That´s genius!! So simple and with an amazing result!

  • I’ve used this trick for forever and love it! A nice nude liner works well, too, for a more subtle look if you don’t want a wham-bam white.

  • Even with light makeup looks I do this.

  • Instead of white, I use cream colour and it does the trick! When I am so tired, I can’t leave house without adding this to makeup routine.

  • Lots and lots of people talk about this trick and I have yet to try it. It really does make the eye pop though.

  • Looks beautiful on you! I tend to use a nude liner as I’m a bit too timid for full on white!

What colour have you used on your lips? It really suits you!

  • I use Tarte’s “lights camera lashes” inner rim brightener. I LOVE that thing. I don’t wear a lot of make up, but this is the one thing I do just about every day!

  • I always use my white eyeliner on my top lid with my mauve eyeshadow but I’m going to go try this now. I need it for a Monday!

  • I’ve heard of this, but have never given it a try. I’ll have to get some white liner and try it out!

  • I agree with most of the other people here that doing it will a nude liner is great because it has the same effect without the chance of looking too stark.

  • What a great effect! I will try this next time!

  • I thought about trying this before but figured I’d look crazy. I spend late nights doing a lot of writing so this would be good for me if I can pull it off. I’ll get a cheap liner and try it out.

  • I love this trick! I do this every single day, really makes a huge difference =)

  • What a simple little trick! I just may have to try it- looks fabulous on you! Thanks for sharing!

  • I wish this could work on me one day. But every time I tried this trick, my eyes just looked weird.
I see lot of people doing it online, but on me it’s just not working. -_-

  • I actually do this all the time, but I much prefer using a nude coloured liner for my waterline so I don’t look too washed out. It works so much better for my neutral golden skin tone!

  • Ha! I recently read this same tip on a beauty blog that I follow. When I read the title of your article, I said to myself, “if it’s lining your waterline, I’m not doing it!” I love the look, but I just don’t have the fine motor skills to do it well! Haha! Maybe your next makeup tip will be a better fit for me. 🙂

  • i used to use white liner, too, but find that white usually leaves weird smudges during the day and it looks a little too unnatural to me – that’s why i prefer a nude colour by now… works perfect for me and even if it doesn’t last all day u don’t really see any smudges (coz nude!)

  • Lovely! I do this too but I use a nude liner because I find pure white to be a little too stark. It looks great on you though. 🙂

  • Such a great idea! I’m definitely trying this out, thanks for sharing!
