Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter softened
  • ½ cup granulated white sugar
  • cup brown sugar
  • red food coloring
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Cream together the butter, sugars, and red food coloring. You want the butter very soft, almost melted a bit for this recipe (it helps the cookies to spread more in the oven).
  • Next, stir in the vanilla and egg.
  • Then, add the dry ingredients and stir until a dough ball forms. Then, stir in the chips.
  • Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper or a baking mat and use a cookie scoop to measure out the cookies.
  • Bake in the upper 2/3 of the oven at 350°F for 11-12 minutes.
  • Then, remove to a cooling rack.

Notes

Soften the butter to room temperature.
