We’re so excited about Halloween! Every year we look forward to celebrating here on the blog with you. Today we’ve teamed up with Canon USA to create three fun projects to get you in the mood for the spookiest time of the year. Enjoy!
First up, we created a simple party table with bottles of “poison” and cupcakes with cute hand drawn bat designs. You can download and print these at home to make your own simple party table!
For all the projects in this post, we printed out what we needed using the Canon PIXMA MG7120 photo printer on their 8.5″x11″ semi-gloss photo paper.
Download this printable to make your own cupcake toppers and bottle labels: Download Happy Halloween Note: If you have trouble downloading this, e-mail us at support@redvelvetart.com and we’ll e-mail it to you instead!
To use the “poison” bottle labels, just cut them out and tape them over an existing label. If you need a larger label, just use some cute ribbon or scrapbooking paper as an edge above and below the skull label.
To use the cupcake toppers, simply cut out the bats and tape them to toothpicks.
This party table can be put together within an hour, which is always nice since life can be kind of crazy sometimes! Add a few mini pumpkins and some cute black and white fabric to customize it for your party!
I thought it would be special to start a book of Halloween memories that we can add to each year. I can’t imagine how much cuter it will become as our family grows in the years to come! So I printed out some photos on the MG7120 with the same semi-gloss photo paper as above and cut them out, leaving a little white border.
Here are a few memories from the past few years. I love this little book already, because I know that this year I’ll be more intentional about getting photos of special moments. Love having this little reminder!
Last but not least, I made a fun framed art piece from an old family photo.
We scanned this teeny little photo on the MG7120 , blew it up and changed it to black and white in Photoshop, and printed it at 8×10 size.
Next, I used watercolor paints to add color to their outfits. I used the original photo as a reference.
I love this little piece so much I might keep it up year round and not just for Halloween. It would be super cute with modern Halloween photos as well! You can use any photo to give it that cute vintage feel.
What projects are first on your list? xo. Elsie

I like the idea of using vintage halloween pictures for decorations. I have some super cute pictures of my mom when she was little that would be perfect for this.
I’d recognize The Cup cupcakes anywhere! YUM! You have to try the Monster cupcake…it’s my favorite of theirs and I love coming up with special occassions this time of year to buy a few! 🙂
The photo that you readjusted is so lovely, definitely keep it up all year round!! x
That photo idea is awesome! I love the idea of painting over it with watercolors. Might have to give that one a go!
