Happy Sunday. This time of year I have so many people to celebrate, including my sister and my daughter. I will do almost anything to stave off the winter blues and so my days are currently filled with projects, to-do lists, new recipes and a lot of flea market trips.
Here are 10 things I am currently loving!
1. I use my Stove Top popcorn maker SO much. My secret ingredient for the perfect popcorn is to salt my butter with Lawry’s Seasoned Salt and to add a couple pinches of black pepper. Trust me, it’s so good!! Also, here’s my favorite popcorn bowl.
2. I am currently reading A Discovery of Witches (and enjoying it!). The best book I read in January was The Museum of Extraordinary Things (loved!).
3. Even after all these years, I still make this roasted almonds recipe all the time.
4. The absolute BEST winter drink is the Starbucks Medicine Ball. It’s an 11/10.
5. Strongly considering purchasing a Ninja CREAMi for springtime homemade ice cream on the front porch. If you have one, please share your favorite recipes with me!
6. My top three interior design books: A Tale of Interiors, Livable Luxe and Charm School.
7. Some good bathroom art.
8. The only fidget spinner toy that I approve of.
9. We’ve got some cute kids ideas for Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day on Childhood Magic.
10. My current fixation is poison rings (rings where you can store your poison from the Victorian era, of course!). What’s your current micro-obsession?

Please explain the story behind the Star Trek guy on the bday gift 😄
I (Emma) love Star Trek and Data is one of my favorite characters. So, Elsie put this action figure on top of my birthday gift. Now he lives on my bookshelf. 🙂
Emma, have you read Patrick Stewart’s memoir “Making It So” yet?? I just finished it and loved it!! So much good theater stuff and the Star Trek TNG tidbits are lovely!
These posts are always my favorite! I recently found your Childhood Magic site and I have it bookmarked and have already pulled multiple ideas from it. I have 3 kiddos, 6 and under and I love all the project and game ideas. My current micro-obsession is vintage coin purses and broaches, the gaudier the better.
I love this post for so many reasons.
I read somewhere that ghee is more flavourful than butter when it comes to popcorn but I admit I have never tried it, ha. BRB off to schedule a movie night.
My current microobsession is Sleepover by Esther, which is the cozy clothes/athleisure collection comedian Esther Povitsky created as a quarantine hobby. She doesn’t really make it anymore, but I’ve been slowly sourcing pieces on Depop. Most comfortable clothing I have ever worn.
I’m reviewed my Creami machine here – highly recommend! So fun for warmer weather months!
