Changing up the artwork in your home is a fast way to freshen up your space and add visual interest to your personal zone. While it can be fun working on artwork that is more involved or takes a bit of time, I also love quick and easy pieces that you can do in under 30 minutes. Here are three projects that you can do in the time it takes to watch your favorite sitcom:
Supplies: Fabric, fabric scissors, frame, transparency film.
1.Use the fabric scissors to cut your fabric to the size of your frame. 2. Print your selected phrase onto your transparency film (I choose a bold font like this one so the phrase would stand out). 3. Place your transparency film on top of your fabric and put the two layers back into the frame.Supplies: Chipboard letters, chipboard word bubble, acrylic paint, small canvas, glue, picture hanger.
1. Glue the chipboard word bubble onto the middle of your canvas. Glue the chipboard letters on top of the word bubble and allow the glue to fully dry. 2. Paint the canvas and chipboard letters with your first coat of paint. Allow the paint to dry and repeat with a second coat. 3. Attach a picture hanger to the back of the canvas.
Supplies: Frame, printed photo the size of your frame, white mat board or cardstock.
1. Print out or draw a geometric shape the size you want the window of your matte to be (I used Photoshop to create my shape, but you can grab a ruler and freehand one as well). Use your X-Acto knife to cut out your shape. 2. Use your paper as a template to trace your shape in the middle of your mat board or cardstock. Cut your shape out of the mat board with an X-Acto knife and place over your printed photo. 3. Place the layers into your frame. So easy, right? Doing variations of these three techniques would be a fast way to create several pieces to start a gallery wall or do a small mini grouping like mine. Just be careful if you are creating these while watching your favorite sitcoms—rolling fits of laughter and X-Acto knives may not mix well…xo.Laura

I love the Run away with me art. I like the idea that it would be very easy to keep the fabric and change the words every season just by printing a new transparency. What a great idea and technique. Thank you for the ideas. I will definitely be using your expertise and idea in my own home decor. www.cheriesforgetmenots.com Thank you for posting such a great idea.
