I am SO excited to share some more progress we've made on our studio space! As you can see, it's still far from done, but we've made SO much progress. Here's a little time machine trip to remind you where we were just three months ago…
And here's how this same room looks today… (!!!!)
After much thought, we decided to go black! I am thrilled with the choice. It honestly does not make the room feel too dark. If anything, I feel like it brings out its best features by highlighting those beautiful bay windows.
Emma built this awesome (and crazy practical) office table with our dad. We'll share more about that in a separate post soon! We decided to invest in comfy office chairs and boy, are we happy with that choice!
As you can see in this photo, we still have a LOT of decorating to do. Our favorite part!!
Isn't our one little light bulb SO sad? We have a light fixture coming soon. I can't wait!
Here's my favorite upgrade…
(Before) Remember how I said it would be cool to finish this entire wall with bookselves? Well, our contractor (Martin Remodeling) did an in-credible job!!!
(After) Bookshelves for miles, right? I can't wait to fill these up!
Still on our to-do list: We purchased a black Smeg for this room for our team's lunches and snacks. We're planning a coffee cart area because God knows we love some coffee around here. Styling the shelves, for sure! Some hanging plants? Yes, probably. And that light fixture… We're SO excited for it to arrive. Beyond that, we're feeling at home here already!
Thanks so much for taking a look at our progress. We'll be sharing more updates soon! xo. Elsie

WOW…this place looks amazing. I would have never had this vision from the way the house looked before. You ladies sure are talented. The office is so simple and beautiful. Love the little succulents on the window sill. The black and green really look great together.

Would you mind terribly sharing the link? I have been looking for a chair just like this for my home office!
Wow black walls – daring, but it totally works! Also, I have to say that I love the table with the extra space underneath the table top – brilliant! Indeed, your contractor did a truly wonderful job with your bookshelves 🙂
I love that you went with black! Can’t wait to hear more about the table!

I love that giant desk/table. The black walls look fantastic, I love that it doesn’t look like a cave at all in there. Such a cool workspace!

I honestly think it looks way brighter than before! Great job you guys!
What a great looking workspace! It’s love how bright the room still is even with such a dark wall color! What is that wall color? Is it a true black?
Wow, that wall of shelves looks like it was always supposed to be that way. How beautiful, I would not normally consider black for a wall color but it does make everything pop and the table reminds me of kindergarten class when everyone had their cubby in their desk for their stuff. It looks like you can store things out of site in that table, with everything at your fingertips but still neat & clean. I would love to have that in my school room.
