Happy Sunday, friends! The hot-sticky humidity of Missouri summers is in full swing where I live and I am soaking it up. I hope you are finding whatever little moments of joy and everyday magic you can right now—I’m making it a point to hunt for them everyday. Anyway, here are 10 things I’m loving lately.
Recently bought this vase and can’t wait to figure out how to arrange flowers in it. I (Emma) am not the best at flower arranging, so I think I’ll stick to a minimal look.
Even though it’s summer, I still love to bake and am excited to try something from this cookbook soon since I just got it in the mail recently.
I listened to episode 151 of the Rise podcast this past week and fell in love with Elizabeth Gilbert all over again. 🙂
If you saw my IGTV on Friday then you might already know that I’ve been shaking up lots of mocktails using these non-alcoholic spirits. And when I’m feeling like shaking up a “real” martini, I am currently loving this gin.
Anytime I go on a boat or go floating, I make “love dip,” which is simply cream cheese mixed with salsa (don’t knock it until you try it!). I also have a slightly more fancy version here in case anyone needs a river-appropriate dip recipe. 🙂
I really don’t need any more sandals but these seem essential, right?
Haven’t made homemade ice cream in a minute, this Oreo Red Velvet Ice Cream recipe sounds amazing!!!!!
Every Sunday, I fill out this journal. I’ve been doing this for a few months now and I love it. It helps me see not only what I need to be working on, but also what I’ve already accomplished. I often forget to take a minute and celebrate or just be proud when I finish goals—I’m always moving on to the next thing.
And last, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all your emails and comments on last week’s podcast about how I finished the first draft of my novel. I really cannot tell you how much it meant to me! -Emma
Thanks for sharing that podcast, I was looking for another great one to listen to, and it’ll help me with my newest endeavor – blog writing!
I also checked out the journal and I love that it keeps great track of your goals and progress. I started using my own journal for that purpose and it’s really helped me become more productive and do meaningful work.
I actually just posted about journaling tips on my website if you’re interested! I’d really appreciate if you checked it out 🙂

Thanks again for this post!
Love that vase! I also am not great at flower arrangements and recently went with a really simple arrangement of “dried naturals” in our bedroom. It’s a win-win-win because they add so much texture, last forever, and work really well in a minimalistic arrangement.
For mocktails, I recently tried a vodka-less mix of lemonade, blackberry shrub, and sparkling water. It was incredible and so refreshing. Perfect for summer!
Hi Emma! I love floral arrangements as a hobby. . . making a grid pattern with clear floral tape on the top of that vase will allow you to evenly distribute the flowers and have more control so they don’t all gather in the corners. You can find great examples of this on you tube! Good luck, it’s a fun vase!!
thanks for the tips. 🙂
WAIT! We have a MISSOURI gin!?? I think I need to go find this……
Yes! And it’s really good and has cool branding. IMO
How do you think they got the calf hair for those sandals??
It’s called “calf hair” or even “pony hair” sometimes but it doesn’t come from calves or ponies! It’s cow or goat hide, shaved short (and dyed in this case).
Phew! ? Good news for the ponies and calves, not so much for goats and cows!?
