We are so happy to have Sara Charlesworth from Chalk White Arrow here to share her lovely home with us today!
"Our home is a small two-bedroom apartment sitting in the heart of salt lake city. It is only about 900 square feet which came as a bit of a transition when moving from our previous 1,200 square foot home. Our humble abode was built in the 1920s which gives it bits of old character and charm scattered throughout. We decided to keep all the walls white in our home (with the exception of a few walls that we painted in black chalkboard paint) in order to keep the feeling within light and airy."
"My favorite thing in the room was actually free and came to me by accident. After my great grandmother passed away a bit ago, a little bag of hers filled with bits of extra yarn rolled into little balls that she use to use to crochet came into my possession. Among the balls of extra yarn was a little circle of yellow crocheted yarn in a sort of lace pattern. It was one of the first things I put up on our walls after moving to our current place. I'm sure this is not what she had in mind for this extra crocheted bit but I absolutely love it there."
"We have lived in our current home for 3 and a half months. When we first moved in, all the walls and ceilings were painted an awful shade of yellow and blue. There was not an actual dedicated dining space and only one small pantry, besides a teeny bedroom closet, for any storage. Since moving in we have painted all the walls and ceilings which took much longer than we expected. We have turned the "second bedroom" into our dining room in order to have a place to sit and eat. We have also created our own storage within our home, mostly by curtaining off a portion of the dining room with white curtains in order to hide our extra stuff."
"We end up using our living room for pretty much everything. We watch movies and television here, we read here, play with kramer (our dog) here. We often find ourselves eating our meals here. It is exactly that a "living" room where we spend the most time together as a family. I love this room."

Love this new series! Great inspiration.
I love the colors she used. Fun and flirty without being too feminine. My husband used to be very concerned with my decorating because I am such a frilly person. But I think he has gotten used to the fact that I actually do compromise with him to try to make him feel at home too. He trusts me now, but I still fight to keep the balance. I feel like the colors and patterns in this home are so effortlessly perfect for both husband and wife!!
I love the white deer head! I have 2 deer skulls from my dad hunting, which look wicked, but this one seems a little more vegan-friend friendly.
I love the bl&w pillow! Where did you get it?
this is so inspirational. love it.
Relaxing home!
