There are two things that all of my springtime cocktails seem to call for… fresh fruit and citrus! This next drink has both. 🙂
Dragon fruit is both beautiful and tasty. I had put off trying it for quite a while, because I heard some of my friends say it was kinda gross. That wasn’t my experience, though. To me, it tasted like a half sweet kiwi. I loved that it was half sweet, because that makes it the perfect fruit to soak in a cocktail!
Dragon Fruit Limeade Cocktail, serves one.
1/2 cup dragon fruit, cubed
1 ounce whiskey
1 ounce triple sec
Juice of one lime
simple syrup, to taste
lemon, lime and dragon fruit
club coda
In a medium glass, mix the whiskey, triple sec, lime juice and simple syrup. Mix well. Add ice, dragon fruit cubes and top with club soda. Add fruit slices for garnish. Enjoy! Be sure to eat all the fruit cubes when you are done with your drink too… so refreshing and delicious! Are you gonna try it? What’s your favorite cocktail for spring? xo. Elsie
Pretty! I love the black specks (aka seeds) in the dragonfruit. It makes the drink look as good as i’m sure it tastes. thanks!
I tried dragon fruit because it looked interesting. Once in a while I pick a random fruit I have not had before. Let’s just say I wasn’t blown away. It reminded me of a kiwi but with 10% of the flavour. I didn’t write it off completely but next time I think I have to mix it with other, sweeter fruit
I’m a recent convert to dragon fruit, if you can find the ones that are bright red on the inside they taste much nicer than the other varieties, or so I’ve heard. I actually discovered this week there is a dragon fruit plant growing in my garden : )
dragon fruit looks so stunning! the colors!
I’ve never tried dragonfruit even though its at my local grocery store, but this drink looks so refreshing – will have to try!

This looks absolutely amazing! I recently tried to make a prickly pear cocktail, but it didn’t turn out that great. I went back to my tried and true summer cocktail. I call it a lakeside cooler. It has OJ, cranberry juice, margarita mix, rum, and ginger ale. I just posted the recipe on my blog. http://www.thistooisfoundhere.blogspot.com/2013/05/lakeside-cooler-recipe.html
Now that I think about it, I can’t remember even trying dragon fruit! Now I’ll have to try this. Thanks
