Hi friends! Today we're teaming up with Chronicle Books to share our favorite projects from the new book Furniture Makeovers. It's an adorable book full of thrifty ideas for restyling furniture and decor. Here's what we made:
We love the "Milk Men" project and thought it would be fun to do with gold and bronze paints!
Krylon makes our favorite gold and copper spray paints. We used a soda bottle, a few jars and a few liquor bottles to create our containers.
I'm so obsessed with the outcome. Emma and I both wanted to swipe these for our homes! This project is simple and would be perfect for pretty much any party. It's also a great way to reuse containers that might otherwise be wasted. 🙂
Here are a couple of other pieces that we loved. The Calvina coffee table is SO fun. I love that color wheel design… would be perfect for so many different furniture pieces! Be sure to check out Furniture Makeovers for more fun ideas and inspiration, and you can follow their blog tour here to get a few more teasers from the book!
So fun, right? Have you read any good books lately? xo. Elsie + Emma too

OMG the bronze paint is brilliant!

instead of using the bottle as a vase I use it to keep my necklaces untangled. You just wrap your (closed) necklace chain around the bottle one or two times and you have an instant necklace stand!

Ou, they all look so fancy! I mostly love mason jar DIY projects, or any unique glassware for that matter.

I like the bronze and gold ones so much better than the white ones you show as the example. They’re so cool!

I love these! I started collecting wine and beer bottles a few years ago and have painted them with acrylics for extra texture. The spray paint looks great, though, especially on jars with distinct writing on it. I’ll have to try this!

I have seen that before, and I simply LOVE it.
One of my favourite creative books is the Liberty Homesewing Book. I have brought it home from London, and now it is at my home in Denmark, and I just love it!
That coffee table is so awesome! I’d love to use that in my own space.

Barb Blair has guest posted on my blog a few times and she really is the sweetest and amazingly creative!
The project would also look so pretty in a nice clean mint, I think 🙂 I just did my first furniture makeover a few weeks ago and I’m hooked.
I’ve been loving the People’s Pops book – all different popsicle recipes. They are so easy and so delicious. Perfect for summer.
These look so lovely! You guys always come up with such great decorating ideas!
I might just have to try this one out!

Oh, this book looks lovely! Definitely going to have to get a copy of it!
I love those bronze and gold containers, I’m changing about my ‘studio space’ at the moment (my bedroom!) and these would look awesome! I think that blog tour that Chronicle is doing lately is so fun, I’ve used it for another book to get more reviews before I buy!
I work at Knack! Yay, Barb Blair is the best 🙂
Wow!
Amazing book!
Thanks for sharing!
Ooh these are SO fun! I am obsessed with the design on the coffee jar! 🙂
Thanks for the spray paint recommendation. It’s always nice to know about a trusted source.

good post ! thank you!
This is genius! I’m throwing a birthday party in a month and this would be perfect and not at all expensive!
You always inspire me.
I love these! I am definitely adding some vintage realness to my place when I get older ^o^ Gotta find these books!
Great idea to reuse bottles!
I’ve done this to a few wine bottles, but instead of using the bottle as a vase I use it to keep my necklaces untangled. You just wrap your (closed) necklace chain around the bottle one or two times and you have an instant necklace stand!
I love those jars! I just posted this weekend about what I do with old jars. So much fun to repurpose things. I’ve been reading Whole Larder Love – I borrowed it from a friend, but I’m going to have to get my own copy!
