Ingredients

  • 1 bottle dry red wine
  • 1 cup cranberries
  • 1 apple
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 lime
  • 1 nutmeg
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • ½ inch ginger root
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • ¼ cup brandy
  • ¼ cup sugar

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients into a pot and heat over medium heat until almost boiling (make sure your sugar dissolves if you add sugar).
  • Then bring to a low simmer for about 20 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

You can also put the spices into a cheese cloth bundle if you want the flavor but don’t want them floating around in drinks (some people like that look, others don’t).
