Equipment

  • 1 cocktail shaker
  • 1 highball glass

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce Southern Comfort
  • 1 ounce Sloe Gin
  • 1 ounce Amaretto
  • 2 ounces Orange Juice

Instructions

  • In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine Southern Comfort, sloe gin, amaretto and orange juice. Shake for 10-15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain and pour into a glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Batch Recipe - Increase this recipe 6x to make a pitcher recipe that serves six cocktails. You can do this in advance and store it in the fridge. I recommend not adding ice until you are ready to serve so you don't dilute your drink.
  • Lemon Juice - If you find this recipe a bit too sweet, try adding some fresh lemon juice for more acidity, tartness and balance.
  • Variations - One variation of this recipe is to add a dash of grenadine to make it bright red (the color of the University of Alabama). Just stir to achieve a bright red color or add the grenadine into the cocktail shaker. Another popular variation is to divvy the recipe into shot glasses and serve it as a shooter instead of a cocktail.
