Begin by preparing the rim of your cocktail glass with salt. This is optional.
In a cocktail shaker with ice, add tequila, blue curacao liqueur and fresh lime juice. Shake for 10-15 seconds until well chilled.
Strain and pour into your prepared glass with fresh ice.
Garnish with a slice of orange and a maraschino cherry.
Notes
Frozen Blue Margarita - To turn this recipe into a frozen drink, simply blend with a handful of ice cubes instead of using a cocktail shaker.
Simple Syrup - This recipe doesn't call for simple syrup (or agave syrup) because we found it to be sweet enough and well balanced without it. If you want a sweeter version, try adding half an ounce of simple syrup.
Garnish Ideas - Garnish this drink with a shark candy to make it a shark week drink. Garnish with an umbrella to turn it into a poolside cocktail. Garnish with an edible flower to make it the perfect summer patio drink.
