Equipment

  • 1 spice jar

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  • Prepare your ingredients. Measure each spice into a mixing bowl.
  • Stir gently to blend, or seal to container and shake.
  • Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • You can customize this recipe to your diet by using less (or no) salt for a low-sodium diet, removing ingredients you are allergic to or dislike and controlling the spice levels.
  • The cornstarch in this recipe helps the spice mixture to coat the protein or vegetables fully. It's not essential if you want to skip it, but we found it to be helpful.
  • To use this seasoning, place it in a shallow bowl and toss your protein and vegetables in it before cooking.
  • When making fajitas we love to add lime juice, homemade guacamole and homemade queso.
