Begin by adding pomegranate juice, vodka, orange liqueur and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker half filled with ice.
Shake for 10-15 seconds until well chilled.
Strain and pour into a martini glass (bonus points for using a chilled glass).
Garnish with a lemon twist or a sprig of fresh rosemary.
Notes
To chill a martini glass, simply place it in the freezer for at least 30 minutes. This will make it nice and frosty. Remove it when you're ready to serve your cocktail.
You can garnish the drink with fresh pomegranate seeds or even a wedge of pomegranate fruit if you like.
This recipe makes the perfect holiday drink because pomegranate juice is more pigmented and makes a bright red color much more intense than cranberry juice (such as a Cosmopolitan) while tasting very similar. Garnishing with fresh rosemary sprigs adds to the holiday appeal.
If you don't have lemon juice, you can also use another citrus juice such as lime juice in its place.
To make a pitcher recipe, increase this recipe for 6 servings. Serve in a pitcher with frozen cranberries to keep it chilled. Don't add ice to the pitcher.
