I have been on a breakfast kick lately. I’ve been making french toast, hash browns and biscuits and gravy casserole. I am usually a savory breakfast kind of gal.
But, when I get a sweet tooth, I really get a sweet tooth. If you like something sweet in the morning I would highly recommend Nutella waffles.
Nutella Swirl Waffles, serves 2-3.
3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup corn starch
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup oil
1 egg
1/3 cup Nutella
1 tablespoon Canola oil
Whisk together the flour, corn starch, sugar, baking soda and salt. Then, stir in the buttermilk, oil and egg. Allow the batter to rest for 20 minutes.
For the Nutella, you can go a couple different routes. You can swirl it into the batter before pouring into your waffle maker. Or, you can swirl it over the batter after you’ve poured it into your waffle maker.
I tried both and they both worked fine for me. Swirling it over the batter after pouring it into the waffle maker was probably a little bit prettier. If that matters to you. 🙂
Either way, you’ll want to thin the Nutella a little. Stir together the Nutella and canola oil in a microwave safe bowl or cup.
Microwave on high for 30 seconds, then stir a little more. This should be thin enough to drizzle, if not add a little more oil.
Serve warm with plenty of maple syrup. Happy breakfast! xo. Emma

Looks pretty goes to us, Our waffles in Karachi are of different type. But will definitely try one of these. Do taste our waffles http://delfrio.com.pk/product/nutella-waffle/
My kids lovvee nutella and they will love this for breakfast
Oil is listed twice (understandably since it is divided use) however one has just “oil” and another “canola oil.” What type of oil should be used for the one listed without a type (the 1/3 C measurement)?
Thanks!
what a cool idea!
