I don’t know what it’s like where you live, but for us it’s starting to hint at autumn. And I’m loving it! I will say though, my tastes tend to change with the seasons. So on a warm, sunny day that still feels like summer, I’m still craving things like lemonade and watermelon. But the next day there will be a chill in the air and all of sudden I’m in the mood for all things cinnamon and pumpkin. It’s hard to keep up with this month!
Today I wanted to share three sangria recipes, some that taste like they’re holding on to summer while others sort of hint at the coming autumn season. Oh yes, sangria can be versatile like that. We worked with Mirassou Winery on these, AND there’s going to be a fun giveaway at the end—so keep reading!
First is a sweet citrus sangria made with Mirassou Sauvignon Blanc. Here’s what you need for one serving:
4-5 oz. chilled Mirassou Sauvignon Blanc
1 teaspoon simple syrup (homemade or store bought)
1/2 clementine
1/2 orange
1/4 grapefruit
Serve over ice. You can easily turn this into a whole pitcher if you plan to have friends over. But either way, try to let the fruit soak with the wine for a little while before enjoying. The juices will blend in with the wine in a delicious way.
Next is a very fall-time feeling stone fruit and cinnamon sangria made with Mirassou Red Blend. Here’s what you need for one serving:
4-5 oz. Mirassou Red Blend
1 teaspoon simple syrup (homemade or store bought)
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 plum
1/2 peach
Serve over ice. You can easily turn this into a whole pitcher if you plan to have friends over. But either way, try to let the fruit and cinnamon stick soak with the wine for a little while before enjoying.
I’ve saved the best for last this time. Have you ever tried frozen sangria? It’s so fun! This one is a strawberry version made with Mirassou Pinot Noir. Here’s what you need for one serving:
3-4 oz. Mirassou Pinot Noir
2/3 cup sliced, frozen strawberries
1 teaspoon simple syrup (homemade or store bought)
mint sprig for garnish
In a blender combine the wine, frozen berries and simple syrup. Blend just until smooth. Garnish with a mint sprig and you’re gonna want a straw for this one! Yum!
What a great giveaway!! I really like wine and have toured winery’s but am a novice at picking out wines because of the vast number of different flavors. I do find it rather interesting learning about the process of extensive wine production. I picked out the Mirassou® California Chardonnay. Thanks so much for this opportunity.
Your photos are so expressive Emma! I’ve love to try a blended Sangria. Thanks for the huge giveaway and giving me a chance to win.
