If you haven’t noticed by now, I am pretty obsessed with our air fryer. Did anyone get one for Christmas last month? Today, I thought I’d share how to make crispy air fried chickpeas.
These are such an easy and healthy snack you can throw together with very few ingredients. And they only take about 20 minutes to make total, including prep time! I love them!

Tips:
I did a little experiment recently. I wanted to know if you can air fry chickpeas with no oil, and if so, would they be just as crispy as when I air fry them with a little oil? Here’s what I found:
If you want crispy and little bit crunchy chickpeas toss them in a little oil before air frying (see the recipe card below for measurements).
That being said, you absolutely can air fry chickpeas with no oil. They still turn out very delicious, but not quite as crispy.
Customize Your Air Fried Chickpeas:
I like to season air fried chickpeas with a little Lawry’s seasoning salt, garlic powder, and cayenne. If I have some fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme, I’ll toss a couple chopped teaspoons of that in as well.
But, you can season these with even less, like just salt and pepper, or try any combination of other things.
Air fried chickpeas taste slightly nutty, or kind of like tahini. If you like the taste of hummus you will probably like these crispy air fried chickpeas.
For me, these make a great high fiber snack for a small get together or for just snacking in front of the TV. They’d be great in a trail mix too or as a salad topper!

Such a great snack!
Thanks for the post! I will have to try this in my new Air Fryer. I am still figuring out how to use Chia seeds, since I am diabetic, but Chick Peas are also good for me! I bought my air fryer from Kohl’s here in Tampa on Black Friday, so I am still learning how to use it.
