PSA: this is not a traditional cafe con leche. Cafe con leche consists of milk with a tablespoon of instant coffee and sugar to taste. The coffee is also to taste but it’s typically enough for the taste to shine through.
Thank you! I’m Cuban and this is our morning drink, and instant coffee for at home, but in restaurants and cafeterias it’s Cuban espresso (Cafe Bustelo or La Llave), steamed milk, pour the espresso into the milk to taste, and sugar to taste.
